| Be sure and check out Talking
Animals! Duncan is working hard on this great new a radio program
about animals which broadcasts on KUCI FM in Irvine and is simulcast
on the web at KUCI.org. Hello and welcome to the new Strauss-McGarr site. New meaning that its been redesigned, reconfigured, reinvented, folded, spindled and mutilated from its previous incarnation as the site for Strauss-McGarr Entertainment, a talent management company specializing in comedians. Among those we represented were Larry The Cable Guy, Todd Glass, Elvira Kurt, Cathryn Michon, Matt Weinhold and the late Bill Hicks--subject of the recent book by Cynthia True, American Scream: The Bill Hicks Story." Strauss-McGarr Entertainment still exists on some level--hell, we still have letterhead that bears that name and we still answer the phones here that way--but its vastly different from the salad days of previous years, assuming we have any idea what the term salad days means. Perhaps the most notable change is that, in the latter part of 2001, partner Duncan Strauss opted to leave the management business altogether, while partner Colleen McGarr has remained, although she chose to scale back her client roster and duties. For contact information about how best to reach both current and former members of the Strauss-McGarr Entertainment family, click here. And among the things you may well find under the Colleen button are updates about the career activity of Tom Ryan and Daniel Tosh--for Daniels own web site, www.danieltosh.com -- and developments pertaining to the other hats she wears (as a talent consultant, for example) and, perhaps, non- showbiz efforts or other contributions. Otherwise, for now, this site will largely function as a repository for various types of writings, some audio elements and the occasional visual elements (mostly pictures, some that accompany the writing pieces, some free-standing) generated by Strauss. So, yeah, we could outline what specific forms these are likely to take, but we invite you to take a little tour of the site, keeping in mind that some facets are more prepared or completed than others. Were hoping this baby will evolve and change over time, perhaps in ways we cant currently anticipate. Regardless, we welcome your comments, suggestions, criticisms, story ideas or any other relevant--or irrelevant--remarks at our Contacts page. Thanks. |
