Back in November of 2001, I did my first show in numerous years on KDVS-- a 9000-watt free-form, fiercely-independent radio station in Davis, California where I’d been a DJ in the late-70s/early 80s-- and it was a truly rugged affair: I was rusty, bedeviled by some of the equipment, sorely lacking in confidence (rightly so, it turned out!). There were so many mistakes, so much dead air that I dubbed my subsequent--and much better--KDVS shows “The Dead Air Zone”.... Anyway, here's an archive featuring a more recent edition of "The Dead Air Zone."
